I have been making knives for the past 5 years. In that time I have been blessed to have excellent teachers and mentors from John Shore, to Steve Johnson, and W.D. Pease I have learned from the very best: how to make designs my own, use many different techniques for fitting and finishing knives, and the best processes and materials to use. I spend a considerable amount of time teaching my processes, tips, and tricks to other knifemakers.
My focus is on making the best knife I can… that starts with the steel, I offer my designs in stainless only (RWL34/CPM 154 or Stainless Damascus), because it offers superior metallurgical properties to high carbon steel. My top choice for handle material is Westinghouse Micarta or Ultrex, but I will use Ambered Stag or naturally stable woods on occasion. Every knife I make is precision ground and tapered on a surface grinder and the bevels are hollow ground by hand.
I am a probationary member of The Knifemakers Guild who will be testing for voting members during Blade Texas 2023.
Upcoming shows for the 2023 year include: Blade Show Texas, The Solvang Custom Knife Show and Knife 2023 in Solingen Germany.
