The Herman Knives Slim folder is a refined everyday carry knife that balances elegant proportions with serious internal engineering. Its compact profile and reduced weight make it easy to carry all day, while the precise geometry and premium materials ensure long-term reliability.
The blade is made from CPM MagnaCut powder stainless steel, heat treated with deep cryogenic processing (liquid nitrogen) to achieve a hardness of 63–64 HRC. The stonewashed finish gives the blade a clean, low-reflection surface that ages gracefully with use. A medium detent provides controlled, confident deployment without excessive force.
The handle is crafted from Grade 5 titanium with a hammered texture that improves grip while adding visual depth. A floating hammered titanium backspacer and matching hammered titanium clip complete the construction, keeping the overall design cohesive and functional.
Internally, the Slim uses Herman’s new improved bearing system with ceramic caged bearings and hardened M390 steel washers. These washers are fully manufactured in-house—from Swiss-type lathe machining and vacuum heat treatment to EDM cutting and final manual lapping—resulting in exceptionally smooth, stable blade rotation.
A redesigned pivot system further refines the action. It combines a phosphor bronze bushing precisely fitted to the blade, a seven-petal clover-shaped screw to prevent rotation, and a Torx T20 fastener secured with removable thread locker. Tungsten carbide inserts on the lock face and stop pin protect critical contact points from wear.
The Slim is delivered as a complete set in Herman’s new original box, including accessories made in-house to match the knife’s level of craftsmanship.
