The Slim Tesseract is a refined EDC folding knife built around precision mechanics and understated design. Its proportions favor comfort and pocketability, while the materials and construction reflect Herman Knives’ uncompromising approach to manufacturing.
The blade is made from CPM MagnaCut powder stainless steel and heat treated with deep cryogenic processing (liquid nitrogen) to achieve a working hardness of 63–64 HRC. The flat grind and medium detent provide controlled, predictable deployment and clean cutting performance. A shiny stonewashed finish reduces glare and gives the blade a durable, wear-tolerant surface.
The handle is machined from Grade 5 titanium and finished with the Tesseract pattern—a precise geometric texture that enhances grip while adding visual depth. A floating titanium backspacer and a matching Tesseract-pattern titanium clip complete the construction, keeping the knife visually cohesive from every angle.
Mechanically, the Slim uses Herman’s updated bearing system with ceramic caged ball bearings designed for increased stability. Blade rotation is further refined by hardened M390 powder steel washers, manufactured entirely in-house. These washers are machined, vacuum heat treated, EDM-cut, sliced to 0.6 mm thickness, and hand-lapped to a near-mirror finish, resulting in exceptionally smooth and consistent action.
Critical contact points are protected with a tungsten carbide lock insert and a tungsten carbide stop pin. The custom Herman pivot system is built around a TORX T20 interface and features a newly developed thread geometry with increased diameter and reduced pitch. Manufactured from vacuum-hardened 440C stainless steel (56–58 HRC), the pivot delivers long-term stability, precise adjustment, and resistance to wear.
Each Slim knife is delivered as a complete set in Herman’s original presentation box.
