The Herman Ishtar takes a Persian-inspired silhouette and builds it with modern, shop-made engineering. This version pairs a 3.74 in (95 mm) CPM MagnaCut blade with a crisp stonewash finish and a striking Puzzle engraving on Grade 5 titanium. The profile is long, clean, and purpose-built—plenty of reach at the tip, with a geometry that feels precise in real cutting.
Herman’s mechanical side is just as serious. The knife runs on custom caged ceramic ball bearings (16 ceramic balls for stability), backed by in-house M390 washers finished to a very fine surface for extra smoothness. The lockup is Herman’s liner lock in Grade 5 titanium, reinforced with a tungsten carbide insert, plus a tungsten carbide stop pin for durability under repeated use. The pivot is a Herman-made design based on the Torx T20 system, produced from vacuum-hardened 440C for wear resistance and consistent adjustment.
In hand, the Ishtar feels “dialed”: secure ergonomics, medium detent, and a fast, controlled action. It’s an EDC-ready custom folder that also looks like it belongs in a display case.
