The Herman Knives Slim M398 Puzzle combines a Böhler M398 blade with a highly distinctive multicolor Grade 5 titanium handle. The 3.74-inch blade is hardened to 62–63 HRC, ground with a large-radius hollow grind, and finished in shiny stonewash, while the interlocking Puzzle pattern gives each side of the handle a complex multitone appearance.
Herman’s upgraded action uses custom caged bearings with 16 ceramic balls running on M390 steel washers manually lapped to 4000 grit. A ceramic detent, tungsten carbide lock insert and stop pin, polished 440C pivot and screws, titanium pocket clip, and floating titanium backspacer complete the construction.
The set includes the original Herman box, microfiber cloth, Protector Glide oil, and titanium screwdriver.
