Flip the blade with one hand; the spring-assisted carriage rotates through 180° and auto-indexes with a deviation of no more than 0.3°, guaranteeing the same bevel angle on both sides.
Dialling in the edge is equally effortless. A brass rack-and-pinion lift gives stepless control from 10° to 39° per side (down to 8.5° when you swap in fillet clamps), while the integrated Axicube-I digital inclinometer tracks the exact angle in real time to a precision of 0.1°. The cube is factory-calibrated, USB-C rechargeable, and rugged enough to shrug off workshop vibration and temperatures from 0 °C to +40 °C.
A 694 mm two-piece steel guide-rod rides on low-friction bushings and accepts any Edge-Pro-style or flat-ended stone up to 210 mm. Out of the box you get five diamond plates—150, 220, 400, 600 and 1000 grit—covering everything from chip removal to mirror finishing. Blade dimensions are equally generous: clamp anything up to 7 mm thick and 450 mm long.
