The supplied diamond-coated plates can be used dry and do not require soaking or honing oil.
The TSPROF Kadet Pro GE is a medium-size guided knife sharpening system that balances workshop stability with practical portability. Its working range supports blades from 2.0 to 11.8 in / 50 to 300 mm, covering compact folding knives, hunting knives, fixed blades, kitchen knives, and many general-purpose cutting tools.
The main body and whole-milled clamps are manufactured from 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. A matte black anodized finish improves corrosion resistance, protects the working surfaces from routine wear, and reinforces threaded areas used for repeated adjustment and assembly.
Sharpening angle is controlled through a rack-and-pinion mechanism that moves along a machined arched support. Turning the height-adjustment knob moves the guide assembly around the virtual center of the knife edge, allowing smooth adjustment from 12° to 32.1° per side. This geometry helps reduce unintended angle changes during setup.
The GE designation identifies the upgraded Glide hinge. Its brass bushing supports smooth guide-rod travel while reducing friction, binding, and lateral play. A separate parking bracket is unnecessary: the guide rod remains in its resting position through the hinge geometry and the friction generated by its own weight.
The rotating mechanism allows the clamping frame to be turned over without removing the knife. Once the blade has been flipped, the lever locks the frame into position, helping maintain the selected sharpening angle on both sides of the edge.
Two whole-milled universal Kadet clamps provide rigid blade support during coarse profiling and fine finishing. Their solid aluminum construction resists flex under abrasive pressure and does not require routine calibration for different compatible blade profiles.
The abrasive holder accepts flat-ended and backed stones from 0.4 to 6.3 in / 10 to 160 mm long and from 0.12 to 0.59 in / 3 to 15 mm thick. This range supports the supplied diamond plates as well as many aftermarket abrasives.
Kadet Pro GE also uses a modular clamping interface compatible with multiple TSPROF K03 clamp types, including quick, fillet, single, and double clamps. At 4.7 lb / 2.1 kg, the system remains stable during sharpening but can be folded for easier storage or transport.
Five diamond-coated plates provide a complete progression from aggressive F150 edge shaping through F1000 finishing and deburring.
