The Handle is made of metal and wooden parts. Carved walnut grip. Gilded and decorated brass guard and pommel. Cast head of the Ancient Greek god Mercury with his legendary winged hat and collar of gems inlaid on the pommel. Compound decorative guard divided into cross guard with two quillons shaped as scrolls. Artistically shell guard formed as spread wings, the main symbol of Mercury.
The scabbard is all-metal forged, made of brass, with decorative mouthpiece, two suspension rings sideways, a winged tip in rod ending form. Two finely crafted lockets on each side. One depicted with engraved and then gilded figure of Mercury. Notching decorative technique on the other one. Additional ornamental decoration on both sides.
